Driving license class B197 in Düsseldorf & Mülheim - Drive automatic. Drive a manual car. Allowed to do everything.
The B197 is the modern, flexible version of the classic class B driving license. You take the training and practical test on an automatic vehicle, but are also allowed to drive manual vehicles - without any restrictions on the card endorsement.
What you are allowed to drive

Passenger cars up to 3,500 kg gross vehicle weight

Max. 8 seats (plus driver)

Trailers up to 750 kg or

Trailers over 750 kg, if the entire combination weighs max. 3,500 kg

Automatic and manual cars (after special training)
Requirements

Minimum age: 18 years (or 17 with accompanied driving)

Valid eye test (not older than 2 years)

First aid course (“Immediate measures at the scene of an accident”)

Biometric passport photo

Theory lessons as for class B

Practical training mainly on an automatic vehicle

10 driving lessons of 45 minutes each on a manual car

Internal driving test with the driving instructor on manual transmission

Practical test on automatic with the examiner
After passing the test, you have no restriction on automatic transmission in your driver's license!
